Updated: 4:43 PM EDT Jul 12, 2021 The COVID-19 vaccination site at Plattsburgh International Airport will be among several to close later this month, state leadership announced Monday. According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the site is one of four that will cease operations on July 19 as part of a statewide drawback on vaccination efforts. Vaccination sites in Niagara Falls, Utica and Long Island will close on the same date. The transition reflects the state s plan to focus resources in areas where the vaccination rate is lower than the statewide average through collaboration with local stakeholders, community members and partners, a release announcing the change said. Clinton County, where the airport site is located, is reporting similar vaccination rates among adult residents when compared to the state as a whole. According to the New York Department of Health, approximately 69% of adults in the county have received at least one dose of a vaccine, just shy of the 70.5% mark
