With the pandemic reaching the one year mark soon, non-profit organizations all across the country are struggling to find ways to fundraise so they can continue running programs and taking care of the people they serve. Unfortunately, it’s not always the easiest thing to do, when you can’t get people together and show them a good time or help show off the cause you’re working for, to help raise money.

The West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA) has a few fun winter break ideas that are safe for all families that Fox 17 reported about.
Long Road Distillers, Blandford Nature Center create maple bourbon

It is available at Long Road Distillers’ tasting room at 537 Leonard St. NW.
The bourbon has been years in the making. The distiller provided a used whiskey barrel to Blandford, which the nature center used to age its maple syrup that is produced on-site in its old-fashioned sugarhouse.
“Our annual Sugarbush Festival and maple syrup harvest is one of the signature events here at Blandford, allowing visitors to get a first-hand look at the syrup making process from tree to sugarhouse,” Jason Meyer, Blandford’s president and CEO, said in an statement.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â There are still many opportunities to get involved with the local community this holiday season.
Courtney Sheffer, Marketing Director for West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA), joined Fox 17 live to share a few fun winter break ideas that are safe for all families.
First, Grand Rapids Public Museum is hosting Snowflake Break Camps for students in 1st through 6th grade. They can participate either in-person or virtually to explore science, history, and culture. This takes place Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from December 21 to 30.
