3 FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital staff paused momentarily to mark the 120th birthday of the Army Nurse Corps, Feb. 2. “This year we decided to create a living museum featuring memorabilia from nurses who are currently serving and from retired nurses in our community,” said Col. Amanda Forristal, BACH’s deputy commander for nursing. “Current Army Nurse Corps officers reached out to retired nurse corps officers in the area and learned their stories, which are displayed here, for our team to reflect and reminisce on what we have done in the Army Nurse Corps.” One such retiree is Col. Debbie Winters who joined the Army Nurse Corps in 1976, and completed her career in the Army Reserve. She served in field hospitals and traditional hospitals like BACH, attended the Army War College, and was assigned to a forward deployed unit in England during the first Gulf War.

So, command teams and those decision makers and leaders. We want to make sure we are keeping them safe and protected,” said Maj. A two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Conference Center Drive in Hopkinsville injured a passenger. A collision report from Hopkinsville police says 20-year old Brianna Reddrick-George of Fort Campbell was eastbound on MSU Drive and proceeded through a stop sign on Conference Center Drive and collided with a northbound automobile operated by 48-year old Pamela Huddleston of Hopkinsville. Blanchfield Army Community Hospital vaccinates Fort Campbell healthcare workers, first responders

Clarksville Now FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Nurses and medics at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) have begun administering Fort Campbell’s first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine to frontline military and civilian healthcare workers. “It is early in the COVID-19 vaccination program, so there is currently a limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine. Our vaccination distribution prioritization will be consistent with the Department of Defense and the data-driven CDC guidance for national prioritization,” said Col. Patrick T. Birchfield, hospital commander. Under current CDC guidelines, BACH personnel directly involved with the hospital’s COVID response will be vaccinated first. Vaccines authorized for emergency use are offered on a voluntary basis.
