See drugs, guns, ammo and cash seized by Flint police special investigative unit Updated Mar 09, 2021; Facebook Share FLINT, MI In the last two weeks, the Flint Police Department’s Special Investigative Unit seized about $60,000 worth of narcotics and other drugs, $50,000 in cash, as well as a number of guns and ammunition off of the streets of Flint. Assault rifles, semi-automatic handguns, magazines, bullets, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, narcotics and other drugs were included in a display of confiscated items from multiple drug raids during a press conference on Tuesday, March 9 at the police department. Flint police believe second drive-by was retaliation for fatal shooting Updated Jan 29, 2021; Facebook Share FLINT, MI Police believe a drive-by shooting that left a man and woman injured in Flint was retaliation for a Thursday drive-by that left a woman dead and four people injured, including a baby girl. The second shooting happened just after midnight Friday, Jan. 29 in the 500 block of West Eldridge Street, Flint Police Chief Terence Green confirmed. A 25-year-old woman and 28-year-old man the only occupants of the home sustained non-life threatening injuries, Green said. No further information was available at this time. Police have no suspects.

Months on and with the new year dawning, Messiah’s family is hoping the state will adopt a new law in the slain boy’s name that will make it mandatory for anyone who shoots into a populated area and kills a child to be imprisoned for life without parole.

Four people were killed in Flint over the weekend, including a baby and grandmother who were killed in their sleep during a drive-by shooting. Belinda Hart, 45, and her 10-month-old grandson Romelo Jones, Jr. were shot while sleeping in their home Saturday, Dec. 26. On the same day, 23-year-old Curdetruis Keaton-Williams was shot and killed outside of a residence and 25-year-old Naomi Anthony was found dead in a field.
