(Cincinnati, OH) - Laura Mitchell left the top job at Cincinnati Public Schools to take the top job at Beech Acres Parenting Center.
Mitchell had just announced her plans to resign as Cincinnati Schools superintendent on Monday night. And on Tuesday Beech Acres announced that Mitchell will become their next president and chief executive officer.
Mitchell has served on the Beech Acres board for the past 4 years.
“Laura and I enjoy an authentic relationship, and we share a hopeful vision for the well-being of children, their families, and the institutions that serve them,” outgoing president and CEO Jim Mason said. “Her compassion for others and strength-based leadership style will leverage Beech Acres’ positive culture to achieve greater levels of community impact than ever before.”

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Former Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Laura Mitchell has been named the next president and CEO of Beech Acres Parenting Center in Cincinnati.
Mitchellâs resignation from CPS was announced during a Monday night board of education meeting. Her last day as CPS superintendent is June 11.
It was ânot an easy decision,â Mitchell said, after spending 27 years in the district.
Mitchell, 52, replaces current Beech Acres CEO Jim Mason, who is retiring after 42 years.
