And he promised more such centres will come on-stream in the coming weeks.
“Residents should not turn up at the centre without a booking,” he said.
“They should wait for a letter, being sent out by the national booking service to people in the priority group, inviting them to book an appointment.
“People who would prefer to be invited to attend a hospital or GP service appointment can do so.”

He added: “As always, I’d urge constituents to have the jab when invited and to continue to maintain social distancing and stay at home as much as possible to keep yourself and your families and friends safe”.
Instead of a regular ambulance taking people to an acute hospital, which can often be an inappropriate place for someone in a mental health crisis, our crews can triage people at home and arrange appropriate follow up care.
Duncan Moore of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, said: “From patient feedback, it was clear the importance of treating patients in mental health need in the right environment which is often away from a busy emergency department. This initiative will also help with an ever-increasing demand being placed on the region’s ambulance Trust and the wider healthcare system.”

Dr Gary Howsam, chair of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “It’s fantastic to get support from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service as the NHS delivers the biggest vaccination programme in its history.
