Ahead of the upcoming second Russia-Africa summit, scheduled for October-November 2022 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Coordination Council established under the aegis of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum (RAPF), has held its third meeting in the format of a videoconference.
As Modern Diplomacy
writes, during the meeting, the participants discussed preparations for the second Russia-Africa summit and its concept as well as targets and a list of events for the 2022 summit. The Coordination Council members deliberated the status of preparatory works and plans for the near future, and the most significant emerging issues necessary for enhancing the entire relations between Russia and Africa.

The perception of China as a growing and global threat has become a bipartisan issue in Washington that more or less seamlessly persisted through the handover of power from the previous presidential administration to the current one. President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) has joined a list of little prestige: the gallery of “predators of the free press” created by the NGO Reporters Without Borders with 37 heads of state.
The Brazilian leader is one of 17 new members of the compilation, which features for the first time two women, Sheikh Hasina, from Bangladesh, and Carrie Lam, from Hong Kong, and a leader of the European Union, the Hungarian Viktor Orbán. The previous edition of the list was released in 2016.
