Both Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Piedmont Newnan have received generous donations of meals and snacks throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and the treats have been a big hit with staff.

Southside Church, like many groups, often told hospital leadership to let them know if there was anything the hospital needed while continuing to care for the community. Recently, the hospital took Southside Church up on their offer and asked for baby monitors. The hospital did not have an influx of new babies, but would instead use the monitors to see into the rooms of patients on isolation precautions, including patients who have Covid-19.

Piedmont Fayette not allowing visitors due to COVID-19 increase

FAYETTEVILLE – Piedmont Fayette Hospital is restricting patient visitation due to rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the community and in the hospital. Legal guardians or family caregivers will be allowed if it is determined necessary for the care of the patient (such as end of life care, NICU and other minors receiving care). Labor and delivery patients will be allowed one support person. Any other exceptions need to be approved by leaders in specific departments. All approved care partners must pass a health screening which includes checking of symptoms of acute respiratory illness and close contact with someone suspected to have COVID-19. Patients visiting doctors’ offices on campus will be allowed, but will be screened in their physician’s office.
