ACHE has been dedicated to advancing members and leadership excellence ever since being chartered on Feb. 13, 1933. To celebrate more than 85 years of supporting healthcare leaders through resources, education and networking, the association is excited to establish the
ACHE Day of Giving. On this special occasion, which will be celebrated this year on Friday, Feb. 12, ACHE invites members and nonmembers alike to support the next generation of leaders and keep the organization’s mission going by contributing to the Fund for Healthcare Leadership. The Fund provides scholarships for our Senior Executive and Executive Programs and wholly supports the Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program.
STOCKBRIDGE â Piedmont Henry Hospital will allow one visitor per patient, per day, as long as the patient is not being treated for COVID-19, which has been Piedmont Healthcareâs policy since the start of the pandemic. Sharing a visitation day is not permitted.
On Friday, Piedmont Henry staff will allow patients on inpatient units to have one visitor per day. The hospitalâs emergency department will allow one visitor to accompany non-COVID patients. Outpatient services will allow one visitor to accompany a patient per visit. Patients and visitors arriving for lab or imaging procedures will receive a sticker with the dayâs date after being screened. In Labor and Delivery, one identified support person will be allowed throughout the patientâs stay. In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, only the mother and security band holder will be allowed. Visitation is allowed on these units 24/7.
STOCKBRIDGE â Piedmont Henry Hospitalâs wound care department recently re-opened their Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatment program.
HBOT is an adjunctive treatment in which the patient breathes 100 percent oxygen while enclosed in a pressurized chamber at greater than normal atmospheric pressure. The hospital recently completed an expansion of their oxygen farm, which provides the capacity to care for all patients and support this program. While breathing pure oxygen, the patientâs blood plasma becomes saturated and carries 15-20 times the normal amount of oxygen to the bodyâs tissue while under barometric pressure. HBOT is known to reduce swelling, promote healing, and build and repair blood vessels, as well as increase white blood cell production to help patients fight off infection.
