Despite the setback, Tony Paniagua reports that Tucson’s airport leaders are hopeful that the situation will improve this year, especially as more people are vaccinated. The airport has added new flights this year and are moving forward on a $300 million plan to improve its runways.

A stretch of westbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) between Pima Road and 56th Street in the northeast Valley is scheduled to be closed this weekend (Feb. 12-15) for freeway widening work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following weekend freeway restrictions are in place:
