Woman pinned, dies in Crockery Township crash file photo and last updated 2021-04-07 19:34:32-04 CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities responded to a crash involving two vehicles east of 144th Avenue on Cleveland Street in Crockery Township this afternoon, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. We’re told a 76-year-old man from Chesterfield was driving east on Cleveland Street in a 2021 Ford Edge when it attempted to pass another vehicle. The sheriff’s office says he then collided head-on with a westbound Honda CRV driven by a 51-year-old woman from Spring Lake. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the man suffered serious injuries, while the woman, who was reportedly pinned inside her vehicle, was critically injured in the crash. We’re told both drivers were taken to the hospital following the incident.

Sentinel staff CROCKERY TWP. A Spring Lake woman has died Wednesday as a result from her injuries, following a head-on crash between vehicles on Cleveland Street, east of 144th Avenue. The Ottawa County Sheriff s Office identified Melanie Dunham, 51, of Spring Lake as the deceased from the crash. Deputies responded at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, to the scene on Cleveland Street.  The preliminary investigation by police determined a 76-year-old Chesterfield man was driving westbound on Cleveland Street in a 2021 Ford Edge.  Police say the Ford attempted to pass another westbound vehicle by driving into the eastbound lanes. The Ford crashed head-on with Dunham s eastbound Honda CR-V.
