The Pima Air and Space Museum, near Tucson, Arizona, took delivery of a former Swiss Air Force Dassault Mirage IIIRS on February 22nd. The museum acquired this jet from Piet Smedts Aero, a Dutch company which specializes in the sale, acquisition and rental of former military aircraft. The Mirage arrived packed inside a shipping container and will soon undergo reassembly for display.

Pima Air and Space Museum announced Tuesday that they have acquired 77 acres of land east of their existing parcel. The land will be used to build “The Tucson Military Vehicle Museum.”
A spokesperson from Pima County said that the addition will showcase land-based military vehicles and give the public the opportunity to drive and ride in a variety of military and related land equipment vehicles. The county says the funding for the project comes from a $2 million matching donor gift. Reportedly, it will include a 32,000 square foot gallery and donations of vehicles already secured.

Multiple pieces of art from the National Museum of the Marine Corps at Quantico are going on tour.
The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation today announced a new traveling combat art exhibition titled Honor, Courage, Commitment: Marine Corps Art, 1975-2018. The exhibit features 36 works of art by 15 combat artists, focusing on Marine Corps service immediately following the Vietnam War through recent years.
The museum’s Marine Corps Combat Art Gallery opened in July 2017, as part of an expansion of the museum that included an IMAX movie theatre.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Officers with the Tucson Police Department are investigating a homicide that ocurred on Dec. 16th in Tucsonâs east side.
On Wednesday, just after 4 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 6900 block of South Avenida del Abrazo for the report of a domestic dispute involving a firearm. The area is just south of the Pima Air & Space Museum.
