Washington, Aug. 4 (CNA) The United States government announced on Wednesday that it has approved the sale to Taiwan of 40 M109A6 Paladin self-propelled howitzers and related equipment at an estimated cost of US$750 million.
This is the first U.S. arms sale to Taiwan since President Joe Biden took office in January.
In a statement, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) under the U.S. Department of Defense said it notified Congress of the deal on Wednesday after it was approved by the State Department.
