Former SHAES chief donates art to SHAES By Peg McNichol Dec 20, 2020 1:46 PM HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) South Haven Area Emergency Services celebrates its 25-year anniverary on Jan. 1, 2021. To mark the occasion, retired SHAES Chief Randy Van Wynen handcrafted a large-scale wooden replica of the SHAES logo, featuring South Haven’s distinctive lighthouse with a lighted lamp room. He recently presented the artwork for placement in the Blue Star Station. Van Wynen was chief during the transition from separate South Haven and Casco fire departments into the area authority now serving the City of South Haven and townships of Casco, Geneva and South Haven’s fire and emergency medical responses from three stations.
