Explaining his decision to return from the expedition, Sajid said that he realised that it will be difficult for him to continue the expedition without oxygen after reaching 8,200 metres, adding that when he tried to use the available oxygen, it emerged that their regulators had leaked.
He said that at that point in the expedition, he was mentally disturbed and his father and John Snorri asked him to return.
Sadpara is a Pakistani mountaineer and has proudly hoisted the country s flag on eight peaks. He was also part of the team which successfully achieved the first-ever winter summit on Nanga Parbat in 2016.

Renowned Pakistani mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara along with climbers from Iceland and Chile is reported to be missing during his winter climb on K2 and contact with the 3-member expedition has not been established since yesterday.
Shigar district Assistant Commissioner Waqas Johar told
The Express Tribune on Saturday that a rescue operation has now been launched to locate the missing climbers and high altitude porters are on the way to Camp-1 in this connection. “They will spend the night there and will start their search operation by tomorrow morning,” he added.

GILGIT: Renowned Pakistani woman mountaineer Samina Baig will attempt K2 summit in the upcoming summer season as a sign of women empowerment and to raise awareness about global warming and climate change.
The Special Communications Organisation (SCO) is sponsoring Ms Baig’s expedition.
A signing ceremony of the sponsor agreement between the SCO officials and Ms Baig was held at the organisation’s headquarters in Rawalpindi on Friday, according to a press release issued on Friday.
DG SCO Maj-Gen Ali Farhan and other officials were also present.
