Kalamazoo, MI, USA / WKZO | Everything Kalamazoo | 590 AM · 106.9 FM Apr 17, 2021 1:31 PM ROME (Reuters) - Italian Industry Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti on Saturday welcomed the end of talks over the sale of truckmaker Iveco to Chinese firm FAW. Iveco is part of CNH Industrial, which in turn is controlled by Exor, the holding company of Italy s Agnelli family. CNH said earlier on Saturday it had terminated discussions with FAW over the Iveco sale but was continuing to pursue a spinoff of the group in early 2022. The Italian government considers heavy trucks to be a strategic national interest, said Giorgetti, whose rightist League party has always opposed the sale of Iveco to the Chinese.

Italy recommends AstraZeneca COVID vaccine only for over-60s FILE PHOTO: Italy resumes AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccinations, in Turin ROME (Reuters) – Italy will from now on recommend the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine only for people over aged 60, the country’s top health adviser said after the European regulator found possible links between the vaccine and rare cases of blood clots. Health Minister Roberto Speranza took the decision following consultation with experts and “other institutional figures,” Franco Locatelli, head of Italy’s Superior Health Council, told reporters on Wednesday. Locatelli said people who had already taken a first dose of AstraZeneca could proceed with the second dose. Officials said the government was recommending that the product be avoided for under-60s but not prohibiting it.
