Whether you stopped at Nichols Arboretum to capture flowers in bloom or snapped a shot of birds returning to your backyard birdfeeder, we want to see the moments you’ve captured so far this spring.
You have until noon on April 29 to submit as many photos as you want. The winners will be selected and featured in an article on May 1 and in one of Meredith’s newsletters.

A major story this week was the nationwide pause of all use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine after six women who received the vaccine experienced a rare blood clotting condition. Here in Washtenaw County, the Health Department and the University of Michigan announced how it would affect their ongoing vaccination clinics, postponing or canceling some appointments, while keeping some scheduled and switching to the Pfizer vaccine.

“The blood clots identified after the AstraZeneca and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine are concerning, but seem to be quite rare,” said cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist Dr. Geoffrey Barnes. “Physicians are aware of this condition and have the necessary tools to diagnose and treat patients if this very rare condition occurs.”

COLORADO SPRINGS â The City of Colorado Springs has launched the Then and Now photo contest as part of the city s 150th-anniversary celebration.
As part of the contest, citizens, businesses, organizations, and visitors are invited to share then and now photos of people, places, etc. in the city. The submissions should show an and old and new picture of the same local area, neighborhood, park, scenic backdrop, or event.
Photos should be shared side-by-side on social media and hashtagged with #COS150 or the city should be tagged with @CityofCOS.
