WOODSFIELD The Monroe County Board of Commissioners conducted its first meeting of the year with its two newly elected members.
Republican Commissioners Diane Burkhart and William Bolon participated in their first meeting as county commissioners on Monday morning, alongside Commissioner Mick Schumacher.
Burkhart and Bolon unseated incumbent commissioners Carl Davis and Tim Price in the Nov. 3 election. Members of the GOP now hold all three seats on the board, similar to the makeup of the Belmont County Board of Commissioners.
The Monroe commissioners held a reorganizational meeting prior to conducting the regular board business.
Members chose Schumacher as this year’s president of the board; Bolon was named vice president.
