AppHarvest Announces First Harvest of Tomatoes from Flagship High-Tech Indoor Farm Shipping to Grocery Stores
AppHarvest, a leading AgTech company building some of the countrys largest high-tech indoor farms to grow affordable, nutritious fruits and vegetables at scale, has announced that its first-ever harvestBeefsteak tomatoes from its 60-acre Morehead, Kentucky, flagship indoor farmwill start to roll out in grocery stores this week. The sustainably grown tomatoes first will be available in select national retailers such as Kroger, Publix, Walmart, Food City and Meijer. Shoppers will be able to find the Beefsteak tomatoes in the produce aisle, co-branded with Sunset Grown, and the products are expected to be comparable in price to standard tomatoes. AppHarvests Beefsteak tomatoes are chemical pesticide-free, non-GMO and are grown with 100% recycled rainwater.

In this newly created role, Lee will develop strategy and engage in operations management, leading the sales, marketing and finance functions as AppHarvest continues to grow as a sustainable fresh foods company.
US Greenhouse grower presents two new board members
AppHarvest today announced the hiring of Christopher Scott as executive vice president and head of enterprise development. He will be responsible for overseeing the construction and commissioning of new facilities for the AgTech company, which recently opened the first 30 of 60 acres of growing space at its flagship indoor farm in Morehead, Ky.
An Appalachian native, Scott comes to AppHarvest with decades of experience leading facility programs and business development for companies including CBRE, as well as information technology distribution companies Ingram Micro and BrightPoint. He served in a variety of leadership roles over two decades for Ingram Micro and BrightPoint, which was acquired by Ingram Micro for $650 million in 2012. Scott has worked around the world overseeing the development and construction of buildings, including state-of-the-art fulfillment centers incorporating complex automation and technology solutions
