The Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Celebrations dazzled the world with a 10-minute fireworks show that underlined the UAE’s message of hope, peace and achievements, as the world welcomed 2021 with optimism and renewed confidence.

Lighting up the sky over the Arabian Sea, the fireworks spectacle was organised by following all safety protocols. While guests, including UAE residents and tourists, at hotels in Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village watched the show on-ground, the event was also broadcast live on television

Residents and tourists came out in droves with crowds gathered on the foreshore to watch the fireworks. It was then that the heavens opened and revellers sought shelter, waiting anxiously for the skies to clear. However, one of the most tumultuous years to date finally delivered some good with clouds parting just in time for the display.

As many revellers rang in 2021 at private celebrations this New Yearâs Eve police were kept busy by a variety of call outs across the Mackay region.
Mackay District Duty Officer senior sergeant Trevor Robson said New Yearâs celebrations in the two safe night precincts were fairly tame.
Sen Sgt. Robson said there were increased crowds at the Mackay and Airlie Beach party districts, but any chaos was subdued compared to past years.
âItâs the same thing that happens every week here,â Sen Sgt. Robson said.
âIt was no different from any other Friday night.
