WASHINGTON, Feb. 18, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The National Park Foundation (NPF) and Union Pacific Railroad today announced a continuation and expansion of their partnership to help connect students to national parks. This commitment advances NPF s goal to double the reach of its Open OutDoors for Kids (OOK) program over the next four years.

Danny Barker Virtual Guitar and Banjo Fest Kicks Off Thursday, Jan. 14
Organizers have announced the lineup for an all-virtual 2021 Danny Barker Banjo and Guitar Festival. A partnership of the festival, the New Orleans Jazz Museum, New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park, OffBeat and WWOZ-FM, the 2021 mix of interviews and live music streamed from the balcony of the Jazz Museum (but no in-person audience permitted) will be presented across several web platforms, including the Facebook pages of the Jazz Museum, Jazz Park, WWOZ, OffBeat and the festival. Streaming dates for the festival are Thursday, January 14, 2021 – Saturday, January 16, 2021.
Interviews will be conducted by longtime WWNO-FM host and producer Fred Kasten, and will include segments with multi-Grammy winning vocalist and Tony winning actress Dee Dee Bridgewater; Grammy winning vocalist Catherine Russell; cellist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Leyla McCalla; and composer and educator Roger Dickerson. Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve is happy to announce the reopening of their French Quarter visitor center at 419 Decatur St. That center will host operations for the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and will be open 10:00-1:00 on February 12th and 13th.
