Police charge 136 drink drivers on first day of 2021
Police have charged 136 drivers with drink driving offences across the state on the first day of 2021.
About 4.50pm on New Year’s Day (Friday 1 January 2021), police from Northern Beaches Traffic and Highway Patrol stopped a Holden Astra hatch on Pittwater Road, Narrabeen, for a random breath test.
The driver, a 51-year-old woman, returned a positive result and was taken to Dee Why Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.158.
The woman was charged with high-range PCA and her licence was suspended. She is due to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday 20 January 2021.

Driver Reviver returns to Armidale visitors centre
Armidale’s Visitor Information Centre (VIC) will again host a Driver Reviver station during the Christmas – New Year break, with the local service shaping up to be a pioneer for the state-wide Driver Reviver program.
Council is partnering with Armidale Lions Club and Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) to operate the local service, which is at the helm of a move to establish Driver Reviver stations linked to Visitor Information Centres.
“The Driver Reviver Station at the Armidale VIC was popular when it was offered for the first time during the September school holidays,” Armidale Regional Council Mayor Ian Tiley said.

AFTER fleeing Far North Queensland to escape her criminal ties, this Southern Downs mum racked up a âspectacularâ string of offences worth nearly $7000 in fines.
Erin Amelia Vickers was first caught driving with meth in her system in Bowen on January 25, and was then busted in a car hiding 53.6g of marijuana, a bong, and a knife on May 12.
The Stanthorpe Magistrates Court heard the 33-year-old was then caught driving on a suspended licence on May 23 in Mackay.
Vickersâ relocation to Applethorpe didnât prevent another run-in with the law, with the 33-year-old again nabbed for drug driving on the New England Highway on June 8.

An early morning start to a fishing trip after a boozy night proved costly for
Koby John Cyril McDowell, who pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving in the Warwick court.
The Warwick 31-year-old was pulled over on Glen Rd at about 4am on September 17, where he recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.061.
He told police a few beers with friends the night before pushed him over the limit.
