The 50 albums that saved us from 2020

The 50 albums that saved us from 2020 Updated Dec 20, 2020; Facebook Share What’s left to say? For many of us, 2020 was the worst year of our lives. No need to list all the reasons why. But even as the pandemic snarled just about every aspect of our lives to a screeching halt, music somehow endured. In fact, it was a supremely good year for album releases, due in some part to musicians being kept from touring and allowed ample time to create from home. This year we had gargantuan surprises, sensational debuts, hopeful comebacks whenever concerts resume, there will be literally too many worthy shows to see in support of these artists (what I’d give to have such a problem again).

This Week s Best Concerts | Houston Press

We’ve got some in-person music for you this week, Houston! And on top of good tunes, this week we are highlighting an annual toy drive organized by a local artist. Nosa Edebor known in the music scene by his stage name Nosaprise has been bringing joy to quite a few Houston kiddos for more than a decade and a half now, and even a pandemic won t stop him from continuing the tradition. As this year draws to a close, I hope you consider giving back – if you’re in a position to do so, of course – and Trills The Season offers a great option for supporting this city we all love so much.

Zach Scott Turns Around Fast for New Found Glory with ChamSys

Zach Scott Turns Around Fast for New Found Glory with ChamSys USA – Zach Scott has been a self-described “huge fan” of New Found Glory since sixth grade. Following the rise of the quartet from their early days through their ascendant to the top of the alt rock charts, he’s developed a deep appreciation of their ability to balance raw power with subtle emotions. So, when Scott got the opportunity to light a holiday show by the band in the parking lot of Seat Geek Stadium (home of the NSWL’s Chicago Red Stars), he decided to depart from his usual near-total busking mode and program a heavily cue-stacked light show for the band’s 90-minute performance.
