Three weeks from today, the NFL will open its 86th draft by holding the first round – and not from Roger Goodell’s basement either.
The coronavirus pandemic caused the NFL to take its annual player selections underground in 2020, but the league is set for a three-day show in Cleveland this year.
LSU set an all-time SEC high in 2020 by producing five first-round selections, one short of Miami (Fla.)’s 2004 record for first-round players. Alabama has produced 15 first-round picks in the previous four drafts, and the current crop of available Crimson Tide alumni is regarded highly enough that LSU’s SEC record and Miami’s national mark could be challenged this year.

The Vikings offensive coaching staff for 2021 appears to be coming into form.
Though the moves have not been finalized, league sources said the Vikings are expected to hire former Jaguars receivers coach Keenan McCardell for the same role in Minnesota. New Jacksonville coach Urban Meyer decided not to keep the 16-year NFL veteran on the Jaguars staff.
Plans for McCardell to join the Vikings staff would continue to suggest quarterbacks coach Klint Kubiak will become the new offensive coordinator, with wide receivers coach Andrew Janocko (a former college quarterback) replacing Kubiak as the QB coach. The Vikings could also add a veteran coach to provide another perspective, as they ve done with former head coaches like Gary Kubiak and Dom Capers in the past.
By STEVE PATTERSON | The Florida Times-Union | Published: January 25, 2021 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Tribune News Service) When Demika Jackson started her own company, she found lots of advice for small businesses but felt like there was still something missing. Talking to other Army veterans like her, she heard the same thing. “Many of us had the same kind of challenges,” said Jackson, who wanted a place that understood goals and questions common to vets and their families in business. So, she helped start one. The Jacksonville Veterans Chamber of Commerce is still settling on a permanent home but has begun reaching out to people with military roots as an affiliate of a national organization with chambers in 20 states.
