Police have released the name of the man who died following a crash between a car and a motorcycle on State Highway 38, near Rerewhakaaitu, on Saturday.
The motorcyclist was Tony Lars Hansen, 52, of Rotorua - one of seven people killed on roads during the Easter holiday period. The official holiday period ends at 6am today.

A tragic death of a toddler brings this year s Easter road toll to eight, the deadliest in the past decade.
The 14-month-old died at Starship Hospital on Sunday after a crash near the child s home in Mt Wellington, Auckland on Good Friday.
A police spokeswoman said the toddler was hit by a vehicle right outside their home and an investigation was ongoing. We are supporting the child s family at this extremely difficult time, a police spokesperson told Stuff.

The Easter road toll is already at seven - almost double the 2019 and 2020 combined Easter toll of four.
The latest death is a motorcyclist who collided with a car north of Te Kao, on Far North Road or State Highway 1, around 11.30 this morning.
Two others suffered moderate injuries and are being attended to at the scene.

Four people have so far died in Easter weekend road crashes across the North Island.
The latest crash was about 11am today when a motorcycle and a car collided in Waimangu south of Rotorua.
One person was killed and another injured.
Police yesterday also released the name of a man killed in a crash at 9.20pm Thursday on State Highway 2 at Mangatawhiri, 60km south of Auckland.
