Air New Zealand to Operate Special Flight for Wildfoods Festival in March (15 Dec 2020) Air New Zealand has confirmed that it will operate a special flight between Wellington and Hokitika to help get festival goers to the Wildfoods Festival in March. The Grabaseat Hokitika Wildfoods Festival Flight will depart Wellington at 10:00 on Saturday, 13 March, with the service returning the same day at 18:25. The flight will be operated by one of the airline s 68-seat ATR aircraft. The airline is expecting around 10,000 unaccompanied minors to travel on its domestic network between mid-December and mid-February with the majority flying to and from Auckland. Air New Zealand Chief Customer and Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty says the airline has been looking at ways to make its unaccompanied minor service even better, particularly at peak times such as school holidays which is when 80 percent of young people fly alone.
