My Food Bag for pets blossoms from sideline to thriving business

Supplied Anne-Marie McKenzie’s business Brodie’s Raw Pet Food Delivery started as a sideline after she saw an improvement in the health of the family dog Brodie from a raw meat diet. The convenience of online shopping and home deliveries has helped propel pet food business Brodie’s Raw Pet Food Delivery to new heights. What started out as a side hustle more than three years ago has become a thriving business supplying almost 20,000 raw meals a month for dogs and cats in Auckland and parts of the North Island. Owner Anne-Marie McKenzie said there had been for some time a trend worldwide towards feeding dogs more raw food, though it was still a small percentage of the pet food market.

Be kind, make wine: Kiwi winemakers get wellbeing tips and tricks

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has allocated $40,000 to New Zealand Winegrowers to deliver 12 wellbeing workshops in winemaking regions. MPI said it had been a challenging 12 months for the industry, with weather events, and labour supply issues and market uncertainty caused by Covid-19. “The severity of these impacts has varied across regions. The workshops will give people the tools to help them tackle the year ahead with a positive frame of mind,” MPI’s director of rural communities and farming support Nick Story said. Supplied New Zealand Winegrowers’ leadership and communities manager Nicky Grandorge was one of the keynote speakers at the Go you! Wellbeing workshop.
