Announcements today by the Government on the first steps
towards a major restructure of the health and disability
system have been broadly welcomed by the Disability Rights
Commissioner Paula Tesoriero.

and Disability Review recommendations published in June
last year. The announcements acknowledged that Māori,
Pacific communities, disabled people and other communities
had not been well served by the current health and
