Recall Campaign Gains Steam as Gov. Gavin Newsom Finishes Second Year In Office Under Cloud of Criticism By spring 2021, with no signs that daily life will have returned to normal yet amid an ongoing pandemic, Governor Gavin Newsom could be among multiple governors facing recall efforts around the country. Voters around the country especially but not only those who support President Trump or who own small businesses impacted by public-health shutdowns are steaming mad at elected leaders who are trying to manage a pandemic by negatively impacting their lives. And in California, a new effort to recall Newsom has allegedly gathered 750,000 signatures half the number it will need by March in order to qualify to get on the ballot, as the Associated Press reports.

Pennsylvania reported an additional 18,646 coronavirus infections Monday, bringing the statewide total to 499,764 since the pandemic began. There are 6,026 patients hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 1,249 in intensive care. New Jersey reported 4,805 new coronavirus cases, increasing the statewide total to 405,448. There are 3,635 patients hospitalized, including 704 in the ICU. It is the first time that the state has exceeded 700 ICU patients since late May. It’s disgraceful that right now, in the midst of the worst surge of COVID-19 that our country has seen to date, when record numbers of Americans are dying and being hospitalized, our federal leaders seem to be incapable of providing Americans with desperately needed support, Wolf added.

It s been hard, it s been extremely hard, Morffi says.
