The final weekend of February is shaping up to be a soggy one, with two fast-moving storm systems expected to bring at least a half-inch of rain to most areas of New Jersey and possibly some light snow and sleet in the state’s northern sections.

UPDATE MONDAY:
As snow fell across most of New Jersey Sunday night, forecasters were calling for as much as 30 inches in some northern parts of the state, according to the latest update from the National Weather Service.
Portions of Morris and Warren counties were now forecasted to receive between 24 to 30 inches by the time the nor’easter passes the state late Tuesday.

NEW JERSEY – A winter weather advisory was issued in seven New Jersey counties now that snow and freezing rain have arrived in the Garden State. The rough weather appears to be impacting the Garden State s roadways
(see road impacts below).
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Bergen, Hunterdon Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties.
The National Weather Service is also keeping track of the town-by-town snow totals.

Mixed precipitation expected in those counties, with total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. The advisory is supposed to end at 1 a.m. Monday, but leftover ice could make for a messy Monday commute.
