A police officer in Essex County has sued the Borough of Roseland and its now-retired police chief for a second time, claiming his civil rights were violated after he won a $50,000 settlement resulting from an earlier lawsuit.
Glenn Carnevale, a 14-year veteran of the Roseland Police Department, claims Chief Richard J. McDonough was angry when Carnevale and other officers settled a lawsuit against the chief and the borough in 2018.
The settlement Carnevale received was for $50,000, which “outwardly outraged, annoyed and irritated McDonough,” states the suit, filed Tuesday in Superior Court of Essex County.
