Louisiana Pastor Bucks COVID Vaccinations As Contamination to Bloodstream

Pastor Tony Spell rejected the idea that only doctors can advocate against getting vaccinated and told congregants on Sunday that it s against common sense to contaminate your bloodstream with a COVID-19 vaccination.
Evangelicals are among the most hesitant group of people to get COVID-19 vaccines, and with them making up about 25 percent of the population, it could pose a risk to America reaching herd immunity. Religious and community leaders have proved instrumental in overcoming vaccine hesitancy, but some church heads, including Spell, aren t on board with promoting inoculations.

Some 23% of people living in Livingston County are fully vaccinated as of April 13, according to data from the New York Department of Health.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they ve been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).
New York reported 1,967,248 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 3% from the week before.
The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in New York as of April 13 are Hamilton County (46%), Clinton County (35%), Essex County (35%), Warren County (35%) and Albany County (32%).

A network of Texas community organizations is calling on state leaders to offer financial aid to families affected by February’s devastating winter storm.
The Network of Texas Industrial Areas Foundation Organizations, a coalition of interfaith service groups, joined The Metropolitan Organization of Houston at a Monday afternoon news conference in favor of state-level reform after the freeze.
Faith leaders, activists and Texans impacted by the weather advocated for bills already under consideration in the Legislature, including Senate Bill 3 and House Bill 3460, and pushed for new measures to aid residents harmed both by the freeze and the associated power outages.
