Representative Matt Gaetz has faced a number of serious allegations over the past week â beginning with the New York Times reporting last Tuesday that the Florida Republican is being investigated by the Justice Department over whether he violated federal sex trafficking laws.
In both the opening sketch of âSaturday Night Liveâ â which featured the return of a talk show hosted by Britney Spears (played by Chloe Fineman) â and the long-running âWeekend Updateâ segment, the show mocked Gaetz for the various allegations made against him.
The Trumansburg Police Department (TPD) recently made public the revised version of its state mandated âReform and Reinvention Collaboration Plan.â
The plan begins with a message to the community from Trumansburg Police Chief Joe Nelson, originally posted in June 2020, in which he condemns the actions of the police officers involved in the death of George Floyd.Â
âI will not deploy officers into this community without knowing they can be trusted to do their job in accordance with the law, while maintaining the appropriate demeanor you deserve,â Nelson states.Â
Floydâs death inspired youth-led protests in the village last summer.Â
The drafting of the plan was prompted by an executive order from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
