A group of progressive New York state lawmakers convened in an audio chatroom on the app Clubhouse recently to plan their takedown of Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Their strategy was clear: use the digital space to outmaneuver the governor, a notorious technophobe. At the time, Cuomo was being accused of covering up nursing home deaths in the state, facing fallout over a threatening call he made to Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Queens) and had a fresh accusation of sexual harassment from a former aide, Lindsey Boylan. “The question we are asking is how do we make it impossible for our governor to ever run again?”
