He’s back and ready for a rematch.
Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino was in Albany on Tuesday to officially launch his campaign for governor once again.
“I m here in Albany to announce that I m running for governor. We have a state that, like this building behind us with danger signs, it is falling apart and it s been that way for quite a while,” Astorino said pointing to the State Capitol building. “Andrew Cuomo has been an unmitigated disaster. He s corrupt, we know that. But even worse than his corruption is his inability to fix this state in the last 10 years.”

Astorino, a Republican who was once Westchester County executive, officially launched his 2022 run for governor on Tuesday, marking the second time he s sought his party s nomination for the state s top executive office.
He will seek his party s nod alongside a field that currently includes Long Island Rep. Lee Zeldin and a handful of others who have suggested interest in a bid, including Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and a former aide to President Donald Trump. This state can be rebuilt, Astorino told reporters. It has to be rebuilt. What I said in 2014 was completely and utterly true. I was right then, and we were maybe a little ahead of our time.
