Andrew Giuliani to meet with Trump as he preps NY gubernatorial bid
Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and a former public liaison official inside the Trump White House, will meet with the former President at Mar-a-Lago next week as he finalizes his plans to launch a campaign for New York governor.
“I will be down there next week for a two to three-day swing where we’ll be meeting with donors, interviewing potential staff and speaking to the former President,” Giuliani, who has spoken with Trump three times since news of his gubernatorial ambitions first broke earlier this month, told CNN in an interview Tuesday.

CNN anchor John Berman said Monday on “New Day” that Republicans criticizing Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) over her comments on getting “more confrontational” are “a case of the pot calling the kettle violent.”
Berman said, “This weekend Democratic Maxine Waters with asked what should happen if the jury does not deliver a guilty verdict in the case of Derek Chauvin. Her response?”
In a video, Waters said, “We’ve got to stay active, get more active, more confrontational, make sure that they know we mean business.”
Berman said, “She didn’t say what type of confrontation. Still, this is not the language that business owners in Minneapolis want to hear or people calling for calm, including the president or the family of George Floyd. A string of potential gubernatorial candidates paraded through Albany on Monday, all vying for the Republican nomination in the race for governor in 2022.
Nine contenders made their pitch to Republican state and county leaders at a GOP forum.
Despite the packed field, there are only two candidates that have officially announced they are running.
U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin is already positioned at the forefront of the race and has been touring the state in anticipation of taking on potentially Governor Andrew Cuomo.
“It s an early important start to get out and meet as many New Yorkers as we can over the course of last year and a half,” Rep. Zeldin said. “Hopefully, the Republican Party in New York state will be unified behind the strongest possible candidates for a full statewide sl
Office of the Governor
Next year’s race for governor in New York has officially begun. Republican leaders gathered in Albany Monday to hear from potential gubernatorial nominees, who would go on to compete next year against either Gov. Andrew Cuomo or whichever Democrat lands on the ticket in his place.
Steps from the state capitol, eight interested Republicans took on the task of convincing their colleagues they should be the first Republican elected statewide since 2002. Among them were two former challengers to Cuomo, a member of Congress and Rudy Giuliani s son.
The message from the potential nominees was clear: the Republican Party intends to focus the upcoming election on the controversies surrounding Cuomo, the economy and the consistent out-migration from New York during his tenure in office.
