Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that only 57% of hospital workers in the Mid-Hudson have been vaccinated, which is the lowest in the state.
Cuomo says 28% of the region s hospital staff are unwilling to get vaccinated. He says the numbers are troubling.
Experts say at least 70-90% of populations need to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity.
Some hospitals have vaccinated the most in the Mid-Hudson region. Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern and New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital are almost at 90% and are ranked among the top in the state.
