Andrew Giuliani (R), son of the former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani (R), has announced he will be running for governor of New York in 2022.
While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Giuliani said he wants to make New York the economic center of the world again, following his criticism of the state’s current Democrat leadership.

Rudy Giuliani’s attorneys have denounced how the former New York City mayor is being treated by federal authorities. In a letter to a Manhattan federal judge, Giuliani’s attorneys criticized the April raids of his home and office stating it was unnecessary. They also addressed the covert warrant used on his iCloud account in November 2019.

Lawyers representing former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani – who also worked as Donald Trump s personal attorney – are arguing that he did not literally call for trial by combat on the day of the Capitol riot, despite using those exact words.
The attorneys made the argument in response to Congressman Eric Swalwell s lawsuit aimed at holding Mr Giuliani, Mr Trump, and other high profile Republicans accountable for inciting the insurrection on 6 January.
In a court filing on Monday, the former mayor wrote that his words were meant to be hyperbolic, and placed the blame for the violent riot at the feet of pro-Trump extremist groups with which he had no involvement.
