Fight to Curb Big Tech Needs the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act

(AP Photo) When conservatives point out left-wing media bias, more often than not we point to national news outlets – CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, etc. With good reason. These outlets spread disinformation and suppress context even facts – daily in such a way as to disadvantage conservative policymakers. While local media outlets sometimes betray their biases, they tend to be far less partisan (if at all) and many notable publications even tilt to the right, such as the New Hampshire Union Leader and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The slow, steady decline of local media has been hard to watch. Much of the decline comes through the market dominance of Big Tech companies like Google and Facebook, which sample news content for eyeballs and clicks but keep most of the ad revenue. NH Woman Gets Arrested for Attending School Board Meeting Without a Mask – RedState

A Sunday School teacher’s been placed in cuffs for showing her face. On Thursday night, in Plaistow, New Hampshire, Timberlane Regional School Board’s in-person meeting was set to begin at the district’s Performing Arts Center. At the last minute, Chairwoman Kimberly Farah shut it down. Her new idea: The assembly would be held virtually. But before cancellation occurred, a group of barefaced folks showed up to demand an end to the school mask mandate. Cops were called, and it seems the protest left Kimberly shook. She explained to law enforcement, “I didn’t want to jeopardize the health of the staff and the students.”
