One more N.H. death, outbreak at Berlin prison accounts for 100 new infections Update: Thursday, April 22, 3:20 p.m. State health officials reported one new COVID-19 death Thursday, bringing the state s total deaths to 1,274 since the start of the pandemic. 515 newly-identified infections were announced. According to state epidemiologist Dr. Benjamin Chan, 100 of the new infections are connected to an outbreak at the federal prison in Berlin, one of two active institutional outbreaks in the state. The other outbreak is at the Coos County Nursing Home. The daily average of new cases has stood at about 350 in the past week, which Chan says is part of a declining trend. The state is currently tracking 3.233 active cases of the coronavirus.
