Courtesy Photo MANCHESTER, NH – The Founders Academy Public Charter School student, Evan Dexter, donated 500 canteen books to the Manchester VA Medical Center. Evan is a Son of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post 2 along with his grandfather, Bill Roy, who is a member. Additional canteen books were donated to the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton and the White River Junction VA Hospital in Vermont. The books contain pre-paid vouchers patients and residents can use in the on-site stores.

Six dead as COVID-19 outbreak rocks Golden View home in Meredith Modified: 12/31/2020 6:25:08 PM An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Golden View Health Care Center now involves half of the residents as well as more than a quarter of the staff and six people have died, nursing home administrator Rosemary Simino said Wednesday. “Our thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones and our residents battling the virus,” she said. “We are looking forward to receiving the vaccine next week. “We have received overwhelming support from family members of the Golden View community.” A total of 56 residents and 52 staff members have tested positive for the virus, she said. Seven residents have recovered. The home is licensed for 105 residents and has a staff of 182.
