WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The New Hanover County Sheriffâs Office is asking for the publicâs help in identifying a person it says is connected to a larceny.
According to a Facebook post from the sheriffâs office, the incident took place Nov. 4 at the Scotchman located at 1610 N. U.S. Hwy. 421.

HAMPSTEAD, N.C. (WECT) - A man wanted for a murder in Norwich, Connecticut this summer was arrested in Pender County Thursday morning.
Phillip Cordell Wise, 39, was taken into custody in the 200 block of Perkins Road in Hampstead by members of the US Marshals Eastern North Carolina Violent Fugitive Task Force, jail records indicate.
The Hartford Daily Voice reports that Wise was wanted by Norwich police on a murder charge for the July 21 shooting death of 39-year-old Anthony Williams on Lake Street. Police told the news outlet that the shooting “appeared to be targeted.”

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - A mother mourning the loss of her son is urging people to think twice before driving under the influence this holiday season.
Tyler Seidle, 27, died just days shy of his 28th birthday and a week after his sonâs 1st birthday after a crash with an allegedly impaired driver on November 10.
It happened on Sanders Road off Carolina Beach Road around 10 p.m.
The State Highway Patrol arrested the other driver, Amber Schiavone.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a moving vehicle on North College Road was shot at multiple times Sunday evening.
According to a news release, the vehicle was hit with gunshots several times just after 6 p.m.
Once the struck car was located, the driver, Edward Wilson, was found with a bullet wound in his leg and forehead. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
A juvenile was also in the car. Officers witnessed the minor discard a 9mm handgun as well as a “small amount” of marijuana in close-by bushes. The passenger was taken to the juvenile detention center.

According to the sheriff s office, a vehicle traveling on College Road was hit several times by gunshots after 6 p.m. Sunday.
Edward Wilson, the driver, was found with a gunshot wound to his leg as well as a bullet wound to his forehead. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
A juvenile passenger in the car, who was transported to the juvenile detention center, was allegedly seen getting rid of a 9 mm handgun as well as a small amount of marijuana in bushes nearby.
