Trey Smith Biography
Henry Louis Trey Smith III has gone through much adversity since high school but continues to battle. His mother, Dorsetta, passed away from congestive heart failure when he was at the University School at Jackson in Tennessee. While there, he excelled on the gridiron, winning the Mr. Football Award twice and garnering a first-team All-American and top-10 overall recruit rating nationally. The Volunteers kept him in-state, and he received second-team All-SEC, Freshman All-American, and SEC All-Freshman recognition as a 12-game starter (eight at right guard, four at left tackle). After the season, however, he was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs. Smith fought through that malady to return for the 2018 campaign but had to stop after seven starts at left tackle as doctors believed the clots had returned. The Browns on Saturday selected West Virginia LB Tony Fields II in the fifth round with the No. 153 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Fields spent his first three seasons at Arizona before transferring to West Virginia. He emerged as an immediate starter with the Mountaineers and won Big New Defensive Newcomer of the Year after leading the Big 12 in tackles per game (9.8). He finished the season with 88 tackles to lead the Mountaineers and added an interception. He s explosive, he s rangy, Browns national scout Charles Walls said. He can get sideline to sideline in both phases. He just gives us tremendous versatility and flexibility in our linebacker core.

After an early run on offensive players, Denver selected the second defensive player of the 2021 NFL Draft as they added Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II with the ninth-overall pick.
A three-year starter for the Crimson Tide, Surtain was widely considered the top available cornerback prospect in this year s draft. He was the second cornerback off the board behind Jaycee Horn.
Surtain earned Freshman All-American honors in 2018 as he started 12 games for Alabama as they advanced to the national title game. He followed that campaign by starting all 13 games and recording three forced fumbles, two interceptions and 10 passes defensed in 2019. Sewell was born in American Samoa and, as detailed in a story by The Oregonian, was raised in a house the size of a garage with six other family members.
