On January 7, 2021, the federal government, through Public
Services and Procurement Canada (Procurement Canada), announced the
launch of two Alberta-specific and two Canada-wide procurement
processes designed to further the Government s Clean
Electricity Initiative plan to use 100% clean electricity by
2022.

two requests for proposals (RFPs) for
the purchase of solar electricity in Alberta to power federal
operations in the Province (the Alberta RFPs), one of which is set
aside for Indigenous businesses; and
two RFPs for the purchase of
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from new clean electricity

Comcast Spectacor, owner of the Wells Fargo Center arena and the National Hockey League s Philadelphia Flyers, is advancing its commitment to renewable energy and sustainability at two of its primary facilities. Through an agreement with SunPower, a leading solar technology and energy service provider, Comcast Spectacor completed the installation of a 1.06 megawatt (MW) onsite solar system at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone at Voorhees in New Jersey. Project details: The Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone at Voorhees is the training facility for the Philadelphia Flyers and the National Lacrosse League’s Philadelphia Wings and offers public ice-skating sessions and youth hockey activations year-round. PITTSFIELD, Mass. The City of Pittsfield announced that Dynegy Energy Services has been selected as the new supplier for its Community Choice Power Supply Program. No action will be required by individual consumers. All accounts currently enrolled in the program will be switched to Dynegy as of the January 2021 meter reads. This change will be noted on the January 2021 bills and will be reflected on the February 2021 bills. The city s new aggregation rate is fixed at $0.09603 per kWh for all rate classes for 36 months (January 2021 to January 2024). Eversource s Residential Basic Service rate is fixed at $0.10795 per kWh from Jan. 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
