PepsiCo has announced plans to more than double its science-based climate goal, targeting a reduction of absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions  across its value chain by more than 40 percent by 2030, including renewable energy plans in the US, Mexico and Australia. Specifically, PepsiCo plans to reduce absolute GHG emissions across its direct operations by 75 percent and its indirect value chain by 40 percent by 2030. Monday, 18 January 2021 Independent investment and asset management firm focused on the renewable energy sector, Exus Management Partners (Exus), has significantly expanded its portfolio of wind and solar assets under management for renewables investors in the United States and North America following the recent acquisition of a 160 MW wind farm in Texas. Rattlesnake wind farm in Texas was formerly owned by Goldwind. Following its acquisition, Exus now operates a North American renewables portfolio exceeding 1.8GW on behalf of its investors, marking a vast expansion in the company’s asset base since its first acquisition of 120 MW of solar farms in September 2019.

Wärtsilä has signed a non-exclusive five-year Large Scale Storage System Frame Agreement to supply energy storage projects in partnership with AGL. This agreement will reduce tender timeframes for individual projects, enabling faster project schedules and commercial operation. In addition to its state-of-the-art energy storage and energy management systems, Wärtsilä’s full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) capabilities were among the reasons for AGL to choose Wärtsilä as an energy storage technology partner. In 2020, AGL announced plans to develop energy storage installations near the Loy Yang A power station in Victoria (200 MW), Liddell power station (150 MW) and Broken Hill (50 MW) in New South Wales and Torrens Island (250 MW) in South Australia.
