Sen. Smith to Visit Mankato June 1 By Ashley Hanley|2021-06-01T05:21:59-05:00June 1st, 2021|  Today, U.S. Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.) will be in Mankato to discuss efforts to expand use of clean, renewable energy, and later will hear about the impact of expanded funding for school meals and summer programs contained in COVID-19 relief plans enacted earlier this year. Highlighting Innovative Local Clean, Renewable Energy Efforts   At 9:45 a.m.: Sen. Smith will meet with State Sen. Nick Frentz and local energy and farm leaders to discuss local clean energy efforts and to hear about the innovative new “Plasma Blue” technology for creating biodiesel. The meeting will include top officials from the Minnesota Soybean Growers and Minnesota Corn Growers.  Then, Sen.
