Israeli and Hamas have accepted a cease-fire plan that was to take effect at 2 a.m. local time Friday after 11 days of fighting in Gaza.
The Israeli Cabinet voted to accept an Egyptian initiative for a cease-fire, according to a statement from the Cabinet. A Hamas spokesman said, The Palestinian resistance will commit itself to this deal as long as the occupation is committed.
President Biden said his administration held intense, high-level discussions hour by hour with the Israelis, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt and others toward the agreement. In remarks at the White House, Biden said he sees a genuine opportunity to make progress.

02-23-2005 – Mardi Gras is coming to the campus of A&M-Commerce today as a parade and concert is scheduled at the Morris Rec Center. Events start at 3 o clock today with the judging of the floats, and the parade rolls out at 4:30. After that, a costume contest and live music by the Crawdaddies is scheduled into the late evening. There will be free food for the festivities and everyone is invited to attend.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture is expanding its quarantine to halt the spread of a beetle that destroys ash trees.
The invasive species known as the Emerald Ash Borer spreads by hitching a ride on firewood, so the quarantine regulates the movement of ash wood products.
The Emerald Ash Borer was first found in southeast Missouri’s Wayne County in 2008, and pretty much stayed put until this summer, when agriculture officials discovered the half-inch long beetle in neighboring Madison and Reynolds Counties, as well as Platte County near Kansas City.
