According to poll results this April and May, Overdrive readers, most of them owner-operators, answered with something along the lines of
not so much:
The lion s share of readers use of fully manual transmissions hasn t changed much (dropping only from 75% to 72%) in the nearly eight years since we last asked this poll question. The share of those utilizing automated-manual transmissions gained three points, while fully automatic shifters gained just a single percentage point.

Colonial Pipeline said on Wednesday it has initiated the restart of pipeline operations after suffering a cyberattack, while warning it would take several days for supply to return to normal.
The restart of operations starting around 5 pm ET is welcome news across the Southeast, where the cyberattack on Colonial that led the company to suspend supplies through a critical pipeline triggered a wave of panic buying that led to severe gasoline shortages over the last two days.
The announcement comes as stations have been pumping out days worth of fuel in a matter of hours, and a growing number are going empty.

An independent federal advisory committee on Wednesday recommended that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine be administered to adolescents ages 12 to 15 a move expected to be quickly approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Wednesday s decision 14 in favor with one recusal could open a new front in the fight against COVID-19 after the Food and Drug Administration s extension of its emergency use authorization for the Pfizer vaccine to cover adolescents. The CDC s anticipated endorsement will mean that many states will now allow the vaccine to be given to adolescents in this age group.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire in a Solano Park apartment that broke out on Saturday night (May 8). UC Davis will share the results once the investigation has been completed.
The UC Davis Fire Department responded to the campus’s Solano Park Apartment at about 11:30 that night.
Since then, the building’s systems and structure have been evaluated for safety, and gas and electrical power have been restored.
Residents of the 12-apartment block are temporarily being housed elsewhere on campus, and have been provided with complimentary access to dining commons.
