Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves will host Native American Heritage Night, presented by the Prairie Island Indian Community, at tonight’s game versus the Denver Nuggets. The annual Native American Heritage Night celebrates the rich heritage, traditions and culture of the Prairie Island Indian Community and the Bdewakantunwan Dakota Tribal Nation. Authorities have identified a motorcyclist who was speeding when he crashed and died last week near Red Wing.
Dylan B. Wieland of Fridley was riding shortly before midnight last Tuesday and crashed on Sturgeon Lake Road, about three-fourths of a mile west of the Treasure Island Resort & Casino, police said Sunday.
Wieland, who turned 23 the day before the wreck, was taken by emergency medical responders to a Red Wing hospital, where he died.
At 11:56 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, the Red Wing police department was notified by the Prairie Island police department that there was a one vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Sturgeon Lake Road and NSP Road. Prairie Island tribal police officers requested the Red Wing fire department to respond for medical assistance.
Red Wing police officers arrived on the scene. The driver, the sole occupant of the motorcycle involved in the crash, was treated by Treasure Island paramedics, Red Wing fire personnel and Prairie Island police department officers.
Red Wing fire transported the motorcycle driver to the emergency room at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Red Wing for treatment. The driver died due to their injuries.Â

A motorcyclist died in a crash near Treasure Island Resort & Casino late Tuesday night.
Red Wing Police Department issued a press release saying the crash happened at 11:56 p.m. at the intersection of Sturgeon Lake Road and NSP Road. Prairie Island Tribal Police responded to the scene, then requested assistance from Red Wing police and fire medics.
The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was treated at the scene before being transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Red Wing for further care in the emergency department.
