NEW HAVEN, Conn. New Haven police have charged a city man with Driving Under the Influence after he was involved in a crash that killed a father of two Friday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., police say officers responded to the area of Whalley Avenue and East Ramsdell Street to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle.
According to police, the operator of the SUV was 52-year-old Elliot Moore of New Haven. Moore was traveling west on Whalley Avenue in the left travel lane and began to turn left onto Ramsdell Street. The motorcyclist, 42-year-old Daniel Velazquez of New Haven, was traveling east on Whalley Avenue in the right travel lane and collided with the left front driver side of Moore’s
A motorcyclist has life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition after colliding with a vehicle in Stamford on Sunday night. Police said the collision.
A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County.
The crash took place around 7 p.m., Sunday, April 18, on West Main Street at Wilson Street in Stamford, said Sgt. Jeffery Booth of the Stamford Police.
According to Booth, a 2004 GMC Envoy being driven by a 30-year-old Stamford resident was traveling westbound on West Main Street when it attempted to make a left turn from West Main Street onto Wilson Street, striking a 2003 Honda.
The age and identity of the motorcycle operator are unknown at this time.
The motorcycle operator suffered critical and life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision, Booth said.
Pedestrian hit, killed by deputy near Nike campus identified

The Beaverton Police Department identified the person as 24-year-old Oliver Sevin Frazier-Savoy of Beaverton.
The crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. near the Nike World Headquarters.
Police said the deputy, responding officers and paramedics attempted life-saving measures but Frazier-Savoy died at the scene.
Police have said speed is not believed to have been a factor.
Their initial investigation, led by the Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team, determined the deputy had been going through a green light with the collision occurred. The team is still investigating, police said Friday.
The deputy is on standard administrative leave pending an internal investigation. The deputy’s name hasn’t been released.
